Martin Pearson is a full time post-doctoral Research Fellow based in the Bristol Robotics Laboratory and currently working closely with neuroscientists and ethologists from around the world to understand the rodent whisker active touch sensory system. His contribution to this ongoing work is the design and development of robotic hardware to evaluate bio-inspired models and the design of real-time, embedded reconfigurable hardware based processing architectures to implement detailed spiking neural network models,
