Robotic devices which behave intelligently will play an increasingly
important role in the lives of humans. In the future such intelligent
machines will work for us, with us and alongside us; all having an
impact on our quality of life. Through a multidisciplinary approach, our
mission is to progress the science and engineering of robotic systems to
create physical realisations of artificial intelligence acting in and on
the real world in which we live.
Launched in December 2005 the Bristol Robotics Laboratory is a collaborative research partnership funded by the University of Bristol, the University of the West of England and HEFCE. Under the direction of Professor Chris Melhuish the laboratory is an evolution of the Intelligent Autonomous Systems Laboratory (IAS)
